The CARO offices are mandated to support local authorities so that they can leverage both public and private funding to achieve the climate action commitments set out in the Local Authority Climate Action Charter, the government’s Climate Action Plan 2019 and in the Local Authority Climate Adaptation Strategies. The CARO has developed an inventory of funding sources across the public and private sector for use by local authorities and community groups. The funding streams are grouped into the following categories: Project Research Funding Project Development Funding Project Capital Funding Community Gain, Philanthropic and Corporate Funding Source Funding Services and Databases. Just Transition Funding The CARO will also assist to identify projects that are suitable for funding application.
