Consultation open on Bioeconomy Action

Public Consultation
The Departments of the Environment, Climate and Communications and Agriculture, Food, and the Marine, are now inviting submissions to inform the Bioeconomy Action Plan 2023-2025 - Bioeconomy Action Plan Consultation and Discussion Document - Download.  The closing date for submissions is 5.30pm 27 January 2023.  Submissions should be sent by email to bioeconomy@decc.gov.ie.  

Education
Two part time programmes (Certificate in Circular Economy and Postgraduate Diploma in Bioeconomy with Business) starting in January. Applications are open until 9th December.  Information on the Department's YouTube channel including recordings of the webinars that were held last week

EU Bioeconomy Funding Support
InterTradeIreland (ITI) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs in Northern Ireland (DAERA) and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine in Ireland (DAFM), proposes to make available support for the next Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU),call in 2023 to enable upskilling of partners from Ireland and Northern Ireland in how to: Select an appropriate call topic; Define the main concept of the proposal; Develop competitive proposals and Explore the recruitment of core partners.  This support will be provided by ERINN Innovation Ltd.  See expression of interest form..

The Biobased Industries Consortium is a members and industry driven organisation. Its mission is to connect industry, academia, regions and citizens to transform bio-based feedstocks into novel sustainable products and applications, and to create circular bioeconomy ecosystems through investments, innovation and know-how including through the development of the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) as a partner with the EU Commission .  All relevant stakeholders such as large companies, SMEs, SME Clusters, RTOs, universities, regions, associations, technology platforms are welcome to join BIC at any point in time.
