SEAI Energy Awards:

Applications are open for Youth Award!

Do you know any young people who go above and beyond in school or their community to promote sustainable energy and climate action? If so read on.

Our youth award was introduced in 2019 to recognise the outstanding work that many young people do to further the cause of sustainable energy as a key pillar of climate action. Applicants must be in fulltime education (primary, post-primary or 3rd level, excluding mature students) or of school / college going age.
Find out more and apply online - closing date for nominations is Friday 18th June.

Teacher Summer Course - Book Now

SEAI and Discovery Primary Science & Maths bring you the "Climate Science Champions" summer course
When: 1st July to 7th July
Time:   9.30am -2.00pm
Teachers attending this course qualify for 3 EPV days
We are bringing our face-to-face course virtually to your home. It is specifically suited to those teachers that enjoy the hands-on interaction and discussion of a face-to-face course. Here’s what some teachers who attended last year had to say about the course:
I generally favour face to face courses as opposed to online, in the past they tended to be didactic and didn’t allow for interaction. However, this course enabled us to interact with one another, to engage, to contribute and make our own presentations”.

During this course we will help you to teach children about climate change, in a hands-on and practical way through inquiry-based learning. We will look at the science behind climate change and the role of space exploration in understanding our planet and its processes. You will learn how to teach about this important topic in a positive and solutions focused way. The course looks at the links between climate change and wellbeing by connecting children with the natural world and involving them in simple positive changes in school and at home. The course has links to SESE, with integration of other curriculum areas such as numeracy and literacy. During the course you will use a range of resources from SEAI, Discover Primary Science and Maths (DPSM) and the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO).
