GAA Green Clubs Programme

Date: 08 Dec 2022

Launch of Phase 2 and Online Toolkits

The Green Club Programme is a partnership between the GAA, LGFA and Camogie Association and local authorities across Ireland aiming to dirve sustainability at a club and community level through the themes of Waste, Water, Energy , Transport and Biodoversity. This partnership had its origins in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Champions Programme launched by the Department of Communication, Climate Action, and Environment in September 2019.

The CAROs have been a steering group member and expert partner to the programme with its pilot Phase 1 across 45 clubs launched in Dec 2020 and more recently launch of Phase 2 and online toolkit on December 3rd in Croke Park. The CAROs with support from the Regional Waste Management Offices, the Local Authorty Water Protection Offices (LAWPROs) and other expert partners have helped develop toolkits and resources for clubs to support their sustainability journey.
