Local Authority Times - Summer 2021
Over the course of two articles, the IPA will look at the role of local government in delivering climate action and the policy implementation efforts underway to drive actions atthe local and regional level. This first article in the Local Authority Times - Summer 2021 provides an introduction to what climate action means for local government and sets out the wider national and international context within which the sectoris operating.
Part 1, written by the Easten & Midland CARO, looks at the national policies and structures in place to support local authorities in their important work to help Ireland deliver on its ambitious climate action targets and outlines the challenges facing local government in meeting the level of ambition set out.
