New Framework for Climate Action on Group Water Schemes
The theme of this years National Federation of Group Water Schemes- Rural Water Webinar held on the 8th and 9th of September was ‘Future-proofing the Rural Water Sector’ and included a vast range of speakers who gave some extremely informative and thought-provoking presentations on a whole range of topics which impact the rural water sector, including governance, climate change and community engagement. As part of Rural Water Week 2021, the NFGWS also published its Framework for Climate Action on Group Water Schemes, which aims to encourage and assist group water schemes to become more climate active and climate resilient. It provides guidance on the key areas group water schemes should focus efforts, with a reduction in daily water demand a top priority.
