Event Description A series of webinars providing an introduction to Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for coastal community groups involved in climate adaptation. Webinar 1: Understanding Nature-based Solutions (8pm, 22nd March) Presenter: Dr. Kevin Lynch, Coastal Geomorphologist, NUI Galway. Webinar 1 provides an introduction to Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for coastal community groups exploring the reasons why climate change and storm impacts might be solved by ‘working with nature’, how the science of various NbS work and issues around implementing NbS sooner rather than later. Webinar 2: Nature-based Solutions in Action (8pm, 25th March) Presenter: Dr. Eugene Farrell Webinar 2 builds on Webinar 1 by illustrating how the scientific understanding of NbS plays out in real-world locations. It will present a series of examples of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in action by coastal communities to adapt to the impacts of climate change. Registeration is through Eventbrite.
