The session will kick off with an overview of Creative Ireland’s new Creative Climate Action Fund, currently open for applications. This will be followed by a discussion about the just published Embedded Artists Projects and Adapting our Culture Toolkits with Maeve Stone and Mark O’Brien who will share some of the axis experience as Cultural Adaptations project partners.

Green Arts Initiative in Ireland founder CatrĂona Fallon will lead a conversation about the broader implications of the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Amendment Bill 2021 and how this might impact arts organisations and artists. She’ll consider how this might feed into the proposed new Climate Action Plan, highlight the consultation process for the new plan and explore what sectoral carbon budgets and carbon management might look like drawing on the experiences in other jurisdictions including England and Scotland.

In the last Forum session, Catriona will give a short summary of some of the findings of the Greening Venues Pilot Project to date, followed by brief presentations from two of the participating organisations:

Niall O’Connell of Pavilion Theatre on how the Sustainable Development Goals have guided his approach to sustainability, and Derek Blanche of Visual on the work the venue has done supporting biodiversity.
